I have used it with all of my cameras but the performance with my 8+ pound medium format camera is what really makes it stand out. With the grip in the left-hand horizontal configuration (not joystick mode) it will hold my MF camera as steady as a rock in both landscape and (amazingly) in portrait mode where all 8+ pounds of camera are being held out over the tripod centerline. This thing grips like a vise but the amount of effort to unlock it doesn't take that strong of a grip. Really, an outstanding design.
