Deco 79 Metal Geometric Star Patterned Single Panel Fireplace Screen with Mesh Netting, 38" x 9" x 28", Gold

I read all the reviews on this product before purchasing it, and even though I needed two, I only ordered one to start because of the mixed reviews on the color/paint. When I received the first one I could see why people would either love or hate the paint, it's very decorative and even has gold glitter/sparkles on it. Personally I love it and the color suits our mid-century modern house perfectly, however it would not go as well in a more traditional style home. I ended up going ahead and ordering a second one for the other side of our double-sided fireplace. The only adjustment we had to make to the grates were to cut the legs off. Even though they worked fine with them on, the first time we lit a fire our cat crawled under the grate, through the crack, and was standing right next to the fire checking it out (which is why they say "curiosity killed the cat"). The bolts are welded on but we were able to loosen them enough to get my husbands sawzaw blade in the grove to cut them off. Then I used 3M velcro tabs to get the grates to attach to the bricks. It works perfectly and it's still just as easy to move away to light a fire. We LOVE the grates and we have received tons of compliments on them, especially when the fire is lit because the sparkles on the paint shimmer in the light of the flame and it's so pretty. I would definitely recommend this product.

It’s a nice design and cool color, but unfortunately it shows a very poor and inconsistent paint job that I’m sure will look worse over time and use. Returning it. Shame, cool design, poor execution.

We got this to keep our kitty 😺 out of the fireplace, hes full of shenanigans. Love the pattern and how simple the legs can be moved to any position. The size is perfect and the weight doesn't really allpw him to mpve it. However, the gold is a little more vibrant than I was hoping, although beautiful and the paint flakes off and gets all over my kitty who rubs against it. Whoch isn't good for him to ingest. So that's a little of a bummer. But, simple fix and worth it, especially for the price. Just a little sandpaper and clear bonding and I'll be good to go. ✌️😄

The screen itself is “fine” quality. But the paint on it is awful. It flakes off. If you touch it it’s all over your hands. I like the style so I’m planning on sanding it down as much as possible and repainting it. For the record another review said this about the paint and so I bought it knowing I would likely have to paint over it. But I don’t feel it’s worth the price if you have to refinish it.

I don't understand the reasons for the bad reviews for this screen...I was kind of anxious after reading the reviews but decided to buy this screen anyway...and I'm glad I did...in the picture the color looks like a bright yellow...or bright kind of mustard color... not at all!!!...in person the color is a soft kind of champagne color...not gold...and I love it...it comes fully assembled the feet on the screen just pivot into place...no dents or dings...it looks great in the room...I'm relieved and very very very pleased that I decided to order it...no complaints here!!!...

Got this on sale and glad I did. If I paid full price, I'd probably have sent it back. It's decently made, though one of the decorative disks fell off during shipping due to poor, cheap welding...easily glued back on. The gold paint is textured and glittery, so don't expect it to look like brass. Overall, it works in our fireplace, just not worth full price.
