So we went on the hunt for anything that could help us chill her out, from specific treats and beds and even this collar. We’ve had her for months now and she’s adjusted beautifully, but I can’t honestly say for certain that it was due to any of these “calming” items. Love, affection, and attention have done most of the work as far as I can tell.So where does this collar come in? Well, we’d hoped it would help keep her a bit more under control when we had to leave her at home with our other yorkie rescue. The collar itself smells nice enough and it was fun having a lavender scented pup, she wore it without fuss, but when we’d look at the pet cam footage she was just as skittish and barky as before the collar. Eventually we gave her a bath and ended up not putting the collar back on, so it’s hard to say.I figure 3 stars is fair, as it’s meant to be neutral. I didn’t see any dramatic effect, but I can’t say it didn’t work at all. At best, results were inconclusive. It seemed like a quality product, physically on par with name brand flea collars, and the aforementioned smell was nice enough, but that’s about the extent of what I can say. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Saved our German Shepard from injury. Amazing!!!!! *by S***0 on Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2019* We have a German Shepard that we rescued from my brother-in-law when he was no longer able to care for him due to health problems. My brother-in-law was no longer living at home. He instead became confined to bed and was living with my in-laws. For about three years the only human interaction this poor furbaby had was when my eighty-three-year-old father-in-law would go feed him daily. We consistently offered to rehome him however my brother-in-law had hopes of returning home to his beloved pet. The dog was a puppy when he , first got him and my sister-in-law passed away from cancer shortly after, Luke was her dog and baby. My brother-in-law was very adamant that it was his dog and that he did not want to get rid of him even though he knew we would take good care of him. My father-in-law finally brought Luke to his house however it became too much for him to handle. My mother-in-law was terminally ill at the time. So we finally got my brother-in-law's consent to give Luke a new home with us When Luke was at my father-in-law's house very few people could get in the fenced in back yard with him. I, unfortunately, was not one of those people. However, once my husband brought him home his entire demeanor changed towards me. He came up to me wagging his tail wanting love. Luke also was suffering from a severe ear infection. Fast forward a little over a year later, lots of love and rehabilitation (as far as aggressiveness), and over $600 worth of medications to treat his ears. Luke still barks at everyone. His ears still bother him occasionally and he had developed a nervous itch. He was constantly scratching with his claws and gnawing with his teeth. He has three different sedatives from the veterinarian along with two different pain meds. Many times at night his ears would start bothering him and he would rub them on the floor while moaning and shaking his head. The vet told us to try to keep him from shaking his head because she was afraid that he would give himself a hematoma. When Luke would get like this it would be almost impossible to give him pain meds or a sedative (which we really don't like doing but we hate seeing him in pain). Due to the pain, he would refuse to eat (we wrap his pills in lunchmeat or cheese). We would just have to get it in him the best we could. When I saw this collar I became so excited. I was hoping and praying that this would help him. I immediately opened it upon receiving it. The texture of it reminded me of the flea collars like you can buy in Walmart. However, the smell of it is amazing. It smells very strongly of lavender. Luke has been wearing it for several days now. We have noticed a huge difference. He is not barking all day long at every little thing. His nervous itch seems to have been greatly diminished. Best of all he seems to be a whole lot calmer when his ears are bothering him. Before it was terrible moaning and head shaking. Now he will just whine and whimper when he is hurting to let us know that his ears are bothering him. He is calm enough that we can get him to take his medicine when he needs it. This is a lifesaver. We no longer have to worry about him giving himself a hematoma or rupturing his eardrums. We will be purchasing a second one for our pitbull now too. He is just extremely hyper. We are anxious to see how it will work on him. She's got a lot of anxieties, barks at everything, and is pretty hyper. I was pleased with the width and thickness of the collar. The smell reminded me of a combination of eucalyptus and lavender maybe? It almost reminded me of chemical in nature, and that's why I only gave it 4 stars for scent. I gave 3 stars for value because although it wasn't over the top expensive, it doesn't seem to help her at all so it was a waste. I gave it an extended period of time before giving the review so I could really pay attention to her behaviors and overall demeanor over time. I imagine that not all products will work for all animals, just as humans don't respond to products in the same ways. It didn't work for this pooch, but that doesn't mean it won't for yours. Overall, I am giving this 3 stars.
