The 3M 36106 Perfect-It Gelcoat Medium Cutting Compound + Wax is formulated to remove moderate oxidation, weathering, dulling, and scratches as coarse as P1000 from gelcoat surfaces; leaving a high gloss wax finish. In contrast, the 3M 36110 Perfect-It Gelcoat Light Cutting Polish + Wax is designed to remove light to medium oxidation, swirl marks and scratches of P1500 or finer; leaving a smooth, high gloss wax finish. Oxidation of gelcoat surfaces can be assessed by the degree to which the white “chalk” transfers to the fingertip upon touch. Work in the shade defiantly. Tried in the sun, was tough to get off but came off. If possible use a buffer/polisher for ease. Pretty simple. I applied another gelcoat wax over.
