Not an extinct green that I have no idea what the original name was. The swatch shown on my monitor is not close to the color but it's not a light green and it's not a dark green. It has a little different twist and appearance than Super Saver. I purchased this to match part of a very old skein of Super Saver that doesn't have the band and this isn't it. Overall though Red Heart Yarn is the one I've used for most of my projects of the last 40 odd years. It has rebounded from that fiasco of the one supplier folding doors and the replacement and some of the icky dye feelings. Classic though seems to be a little thinner and a different twist than Super Saver. I still gave it five stars because it's a good yarn and I will use it for a project.
