If not, you'll need to update the bios before installing the CPU. **Q: Will 32 GB of ram improve the performance of this processor?** A: edit yes if you are running low on free ram to begin with. Bloated hog OS's like windows 10 want a mansion not a closet to live in. My experience with the GPU on this chip has been 16GB max in UEFI mode and 2GB max in the old CSM or BIOS mode. I was hoping for half of the total 64GB ram to be dedicated to vram but on my particular board "asus tuf gaming x570 plus wifi" All it seems to allow is 16GB. I know it seems over kill but I needed 27GB vram for an experiment in S-D so although slow with this method it would have given me the space I needed. but that all fell to the ground with that 16GB cap. I don't know if that's just the board limiting that or the APU. **Q: Does it have backplate?** A: Nope! Wraith Stealth coolers screw into the backplate that comes with the motherboard (just checked a Wraith I have to be sure). All of the motherboards are designed for that. You will want to unscrew those weird clip things first though (I don’t think I’ve ever seen a clip that works with them). Typically, a special backplate only comes with some third-party CPU coolers. I had issues with my 5500 not displaying an image, so decided to go with a cpu with graphics to eliminate my gpu being the issue. Turns out my gpu was fine, the cpu just didn’t want to cooperate with the gpu, once I installed this 560 everything works and ran smoothly.
