These are for "holes" and grab internally. The other type of screw/bolt extractor grab externally. So to use this particular set, you want to use a metal or cobalt bit to drill a hole in your broken bolt. You only need to go as deep as the extractor head. One your hole is drilled, then take a hammer and gently tap one of the extrators into the hole. Then using a hardened/impact socket, rotate and loosen your broken bolt. DO NOT use an air gun or impact wrench. Do this by hand using a breaker bar. You may need to tap the extractor in a few times and repeat the process. Be patient, it will work. Also, use penetrating oil such as Liquid Wrench on the stuck bolt as well. That will help a lot. There are videos on You Tube if you need further explanation.
