We live a few miles from the Mississippi River and have lots and lots of mosquitoes and other bugs. I also have a daughter who is obtusely afraid of all things creepy, crawlie, and flighty. Because I am a good Mom who loves her daughter, I purchased this zapper to help eliminate the endless winged threats. I knew there were substantial populations of bugs outside, but I had no idea how many until I started hearing this thing zapping every second or two! Wowza! Can this thing ever zap 'em! I like that I don't have to put out potentially dangerous chemicals that might harm our favorite native insectivores. We love having wildlife and didn't want to potentially harm our friendly toads, possums, and birds that prey on the insects. Hooray for no poisons and lots of zappy noises!
