Review: Wonderful songs and Excellent Quiet Pressing - Duke wrote two of the songs and adapted Javapachacha (Apache) for the band while Billy Strayhorn wrote “A Midnight in Paris”. All the rest of the tunes are wonderfully played in the Ellington band style even though, according to album notes, Duke was absent for some with Billy Strayhorn on the piano. I love Duke’s compositions which are few but the feeling of the album is still fully Ellington. The “Not Now” pressing is great , 180 grams, and quiet.
