'Nuff said!! *by H***O on Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2015* We got these for our 4.5 year old. He loves them which in and of itself makes them worth it. In terms of the learning aspects of the books they are pretty good. I'm not an English teacher but the books seem to be set up well. Each book focuses on words with different vowel sounds and lets you show your kids long and short vowel sounds etc.. There is some stylized "violence" if you are really worried about it but it's not that bad. The "violence" usually just consists of Batman in some kind of action pose next to a villain, and usually just ends with the villain tied up and ready to be handed over to the police. The artwork is great and the words are a good mix of short and long so that there are words he can recognize and others he needs help with. I usually just read the books to him and he tries to find words and sounds he recognizes. He does take the books out on his own occasionally and leaf through them which is fantastic! The fact that he is taking an interest in reading is more than half the battle in my mind!I try to make my reviews engaging and useful. Please click helpful if you thought this review was worthwhile. My boys love action, but books written at a level they could read at seemed impossible until I found these. Once we got them, they were going crazy asking if they could read the next one. They loved them and can't wait to read them again. One of my boys is now at level and the other one has improved so much! If you have something your kids love to read it really helps. Also, the pictures are really great and even the story was pretty good for such a low level. Thank you I can read and please make many more. I only wish they would make boxed sets like this at the higher levels. Then I could buy a whole bunch at the same level and similar subjects. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Great Theme! I thought that's what these would be, but with a Super Hero theme. They are pamphlet size books, which is fine and a great price. There is no such thing as a bad book. The series is engaging, but difficult for a beginning reader. Way too many aite words and bonus words for them to remember. The first book that I picked up had a bonus word of "Amazon". ;) My kids know that one!
