The overall quality of the material is good. It appears to be made from some type of thin sheet metal covered with a plastic epoxy coating. One word of caution: The lid can bend easily. We live in a small condo & this item enables us to buy toilet paper in bulk at Costco and store it out of the way and near where it is needed. Since this is metal, I can’t imagine ever needing to buy another one for the rest of my life, which is great. It is also lightweight and easy to move around. One downside is that the lid falls off fairly easily, and it makes a huge clattering noise which is a bit jarring. It is also kind of a pain to get the toilet paper roll out of the bottom.
