But I have seen some designs where the designer got cute and tried to mask off the + battery terminal using barriers to protect from reverse polarity. The result is sometimes the + battery terminal doesn't make contact with the + device terminal. If you're really intent on using the Lithium batteries, I'd recommend checking out those two scenarios.
