HIC Mushroom Mortar and Pestle Set, Solid Carrara Marble, 3.8-Inch x 4-Inch

This was smaller than we expected but better because of it as not so balky and room hog. Grinds nicely. Happy with it.

I love this. I replaced my bigger very heavy stone one because it was just too heavy and awkward. I liked the close seal on this because it keeps those little bits from popping out everywhere. Only con is that I'm still working on wearing down the inside edge and bottom of the mortar so it makes better contact with the sides and bottom of pestle. There seems to be a gap under it that leaves items uncrushed. I'm using large seasalt do do that and it's also polishing the rough surface for me so I'm not getting as much mineral powder breaking down in my spice from the marble, which you do see wen grinding white salt. I do understand that that's the nature of rock, it's precisely cut very well for being so small not. It would be nice to have that interior of both peices a bit more polished but it's easy enough to solve that problem at home and mineral won't hurt you so it's no name ealth concern at all. over all the quality, usability and ease combine with a great price to make me fall in love. Also it goes in the dshwasher, top rack very well. I won't do that often so as not to etch the pretty polished exterior but it's nice to remove residual odors of the last spices you crushed if you don't want that sent in your next meal!😆 Love love and cheap enough to be a great gift for many damily!

This is not made of Carrara marble. The packaging says it was made in Taiwan. Marble not white, grey and low quality.

THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST MORTAR EVER INVENTED!!Trust me!! I bought Jamie olivers large one before, it was the worst. Half the spices got stuck at the bottom.This mushroom one, is incredible. First of all, it is the PERFECT SIZE. When you are crushing things, it won't spill out (unless you add liquid duh!) and my god IT IS SOOO PRETTY!!!! It looks so adorable with the colors and patterns. A little darker than what it appears in the picture, but I am so happy and glad that I found this pretty little baby! It does not get stuck at all, and you can retrieve everything you put in to grind in this.Just absolute perfection. Whoever made this is an artist.
