Both the height and strap issues can be resolved with a little modification and a trip to the hardware store.Removing the need for straps - Warning: This'd invalidate your warranty and would be done at your own risk. After reading another review I decided to modify mine to eliminate the need for straps when using the 552 weights. If you take off the weights and remove the four screws from the bottom of your 552 holders, they easily disassemble into two pieces. Using the bottom half, I marked the plates where the screw holes are, then drilled them using a simple cordless drill. Then I assembled the stand and drilled another hole through the media stand where one of the four holes on the plate is covered. I grabbed four screws quite similar to the ones I'd removed but maybe a 1/2" longer, and screwed the weight holder back together onto the plate and media stand. If you repeat with the other plate, you now have both weight holders pretty firmly affixed to the stand with four new screws and ten holes drilled.Making the stand taller & mobile: I plan to replace the screwed in feet with locking caster wheels once the hardware shops are open and I can bring in one of the existing feet to get casters of the right size.
