Call of Duty 2 - PC

I received Call of Duty 2 today and was a little concerned about the installation problems some users had talked about. My version included the 2 multi-player maps. I am currently playing on my laptop. If your hardware can run Call of Duty 1, you won't have a problem here even though the graphics, gameplay and sound is better as well as the speed of the game. Since some users complained about installation problems it seems Activision has addressed the issue. There is a window that opened about known compatibility issues and supplied a linked screen to their web support sight. The game installed and ran with no problem from the desktop icon anyway. I experienced no issues. As I finished Call of Duty 1 last night for the third time, I couldn't wait to get into the action. In the first of (3) major campaigns you start out defending Moscow as a soldier in the Russian Army. The gameplay is fierce and intense as you are thrust right into battle. You move fast; the graphics are great and the sound is real. If you don't make it you are started from the last auto-save point and your health is regulated by how many hits you take and if you move out of the line-of-fire you health restores shortly instead of looking for health packs. I haven't played this game long enough to notice any serious flaws and I don't think I'll have any complaints as long as what I've seen so far. Call of Duty 2 is a great game and comes highly recommended.

I bought this game for myself and also my son. Although this game has been out since Nov. 2005, this game is fun to play from both the single player and the multiplayer aspect. The Pros - This game has very good graphics, a very good story line in single player, and the multiplayer is server based with clans which are dedicated to basic stock maps to extreme mods. Today's basic computer will have no problem running the game. The Cons - There should have been an expansion pack that followed it....just like cod uo....so tanks and other vehicles could have been added. The graphics are very good, but are not "bleeding edge". If your looking for a game that delivers that, buy a present day game. Summary - As I said: I bought two (one for me, one for my son). Smooth FPS shooter with both good single and multiplayer game type. It is an older game , so the population on the servers won't be like on todays console games. Very expandible with mods and skins, ect. Today's computers will run it well....but if you have windows 7....make sure you insert the disk, right click and open it, then run it from the executible( not auto run, you might get an error message). What are you waiting for??? BUY IT !!! It's a fun game . :)

I bought this for my son who asked it for Christmas. I was very reluctant to buy it,but he insisted and I knew it was important for him. He was due for a great reward after a perfect 1st semester. But a few weeks after Christmas, I noticed he wasn't playing with it. I asked him about it, and he later told me that he really asked for it so he could tell his friends at school that he got it for Christmas because they kept on telling him he would probably never been allowed to play with it. He did find it violent and uninteresting (he loves Age of Empires or Rome). It hasn't come out of his drawer since.

Great game

Call of Duty 2 is one game that I honestly have never owned. The first time I played it was when I tried out the Xbox 360 at Best Buy after it released, and enjoyed what I played. Call of Duty was a series that I was new to, and I didn't know anything about so I never did buy this game. The first Call of Duty I owned was Modern Warfare, and that is by far the best out of them all. This game does have some places where it does feel aged, but it wont bother you much if you don't really pay attention to the look of the game. The gameplay is what you would expect from CoD back then, but will feel weird if you are one of those Black Ops/Modern Warfare freaks of this current generation. I personally would wish that they would go back to what started Call of Duty, before it became such a phenomenon. Sadly, I feel that it doesn't deserve the popularity it deserves, but there are more kids than there are other people that play it so it makes sense since the kids get addicted to this from the easy to play and simplistic design. It would be nice if they would go back to WW2, because the battlefields and massive areas to play was nice to have.

Have windows 7 with intel graphics HD 4000. The Cod 2 demo played just fine after setting compatibility to XP, run as admin. This is why I bought this CD. CD will not install. Incompatible period. Has Acrobat 7 on disc. Windows 7 cannot run Acrobat 7 from what I read. Why there is not a patch from Activision for install of this game, is beyond me. Anyone know how come the demo runs just fine but CD install cannot be fixed, or how to fix?? Actually game installs, but will not play. Activision must be still making money on the sale of this, why can they not fix?

This is the Game of the Year version of Call of Duty 2. Much has been said about it, so I would like to give some tips for other gamers: 1. This is the Game of the Year version, and it comes as a 1.2 version. The online servers, however, usually run on 1.0 or 1.3 version. So you might wanna install a 1.3 patch after the installation for online play. 2. Punkbuster seems to stop updating its anti-cheating service for CoD2, so you need to install and update punkbuster for CoD2 in a different way by extracting the files directly into the game folder. How-to videos can be found at Youtube. 3. For some reason I cannot find any server in the in-game server browser, no matter how I change the filter settings and which version of the game I run (1.2, 1.3). I would recommend using 3rd party software to mange game servers (e.g. HLSW). In general the game is great. I would be better if the instruction manual were in colors (I have a pdf version of the manual in colors)

But i can't get my cheats to work on windows 7, 64 bit. When i go in game options, i press ~ key developer 1, and the load button doesn't appear, then while playing the game, i press ~ key again and type seta thereisacow 1337 or devmap not found it says, give all and this appears, cheats are not enable on this server. I work have windows 7, do not buy this game if you want cheats to work on windows 7. The cheats work on my call of duty 1. My computer is upgated.

I really enjoined this game! To bad is not compatibly with Window 10...

It could not be downloaded into any one of my computers. It's now now to be garbaged.
