Brown Gravy Mix, 6 lb

I cannot make gravy and this is wonderful. Great taste and easy to make. I also add some to my roast to make a delicious roast gravy. I use a lot of it and I love this size.

What was I thinking buying 6 lbs of gravy (*SMH*, lol). This will last me a long time, and I know it will stay fresh for a long time- there is nothing to go bad, and the container is durable with a good lid. The price is much more reasonable than small bottles or individual packs. It can be used for so much beyond just gravy- use it to flavor up some roasts, add a little to soups, add to other dishes that benefit from flavor boost and some creaminess. And of course for use as a gravy. I sometimes like a little dish of gravy alongside some fries. I simply do not make enough meat to be able to make a fresh gravy every time I want it. Also, I dont have that ambition. Anyway, I like it-- very easy to make, no fuss, really no effort. Tasty enough for all my gravy needs!

Not as good as Grandma's homemade gravy, but it gets the job done. Not too salty like some mixes. Very economical in this size (share with a few friends?). I use it for gravy, in pasta sauce, soup, casseroles, etc - anywhere that could use a bit of flavor or sauciness. I wish the flavor was a bit meatier, but the for the price it's still my choice.

Wife got pissed threw across room and lid held great no mess I give it a good buy rating for the lid. Well besides the lid staying on while taking an airborne trip across the kitchen into dinning room. It must be good. It’s close to half way gone in about one month. I like mine nice and thick. While others like it extremely thin and runny. No set rule make it your way. If anyone opens their mouth of how it’s made in dislike. They make it from that point on. Until someone else makes a negative comment on how it’s made. Then guess what? That per Just volunteered to make it till the next moron volunteers themselves. Eventually everyone one will love how that other person makes the great McCormick brown beef gravy. Then when no one no longer makes any snid remarks. You take one big spoonful of McCormick Old Bay seafood seasoning and mix that in with the McCormick beef gravy. Now I actually like that. But you can be sure someone will be volunteering to be the next McCormick Brown Beef Gravy chef for a bit!!!!! Yours truly Ollie!!!

Well, you could knock me over with a feather. Good-tasting gravy from a POWDER? I would never have believed it if I hadn't tried it myself. I'm single, and although I like to cook, I don't often make a big roast. So making gravy isn't something I do very often, although I really enjoy it with a small steak over mashed potatoes. Saw this, read some of the reviews, and decided it was worth a try. As others have pointed out, the instructions are under a peel-down nutrition label on the back. My first test involved making approx 1 C of gravy using the microwave instructions: combine 3 Tbsp of powder with 1 C of hot water, whisk until smooth, then nuke for 2.5-3 min at full power, whisking after each minute (basically, I just hit the "1 minute express" button, whisked when it beeped, then hit the 1 minute express button again, etc.). This made just under 1 C of tasty brown beefy-tasting gravy, with no lumps, a nice silky texture, and seasoned just right (not too salty). I used about 2/3 of it over my favorite instant mashed potatoes Idahoan Buttery Golden Selects Flavored Mashed Potatoes (10 Pack) with a small steak from a local butcher, and a side of steamed fresh spinach. A quick balanced meal. Based on this, I now know that I should be able to make a little less quantity using 2 Tbsp of powder and 2/3 C hot water. At this rate, this 21-oz container should last a decent amount of time. VERY surprised at how good this is. Seriously. Highly recommended if you want decent brown gravy without the extra work.

I ordered this based on the reviews because sometimes we like gravy with French fries etc and the small packages aren’t cutting it flavour-wise. This reminds me of the gravy you used to get in diners. It’s very good, rich in the right way, not too salty. I actually added a bit of salt and pepper and it was nice that there was space in the taste of it to allow me to do so! We all enjoyed it very much and I’ll continue to order this and nothing else going forward.
