No it does not because it has an opening in the middle where the strap is threaded thru. Their other orange balls without the strap DO float. ;-) **Q: Which size is equal to a tennis ball?** A: The chuck it ball comes in now about 5 sizes...the next size up from the smallest is the medium which is the size of a tennis ball, The one pictures with the tug handle is the size medium which is the size of a tennis ball.
