Review: Game Changer - NOTE: Review NOT for the pro players but to entry level enthusiasts who are exploring new tones. I've been self taugh for some time and decided to start exploring on effects and pedals, currently I'm using a very simple "rig" using Tonebridge and some boss wireless pedals (FS-1-WL) with extra (FS-6) to allow changing presets in the app and somehow start experimenting a live set. Sound was pretty good but not quite there, I have a very good ear but not enough money or expertise to buy tons of pedals and make it sound like the original track. My epiphone Slash sounds decent but with a muddy sound sometimes, of course being a noob I though it was my fault (partially) so to this point the overall sound was not as exciting as expected. As I mentioned I did somewhat of a amateur pedalboard and had a empty slot, after some research about sound and tones I found this gem... enter the Boss EQ-200. I'm writing this because after a few tweaks I played Black from Pearl Jam and it actually sounded like part of the track, mindblown! So few notes for my fellow guitar starters: * It is very expensive, yes. But take it from me, I bought gear from another brand and put it away after 30 minutes. This will not be a magic bullet, to need to know a thing or 2. * It drastically changes the sound for the good, but then again you need to tune it. * The new sounds are so good you will want to practice more and more.
Review: Best EQ - This is the best EQ to create multiple sounds. Sounds great and no volume loss!!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: these days i play exclusively clean, mostly with my fingers. my gear is great, but am looking to remove sibilance from my tone. any opinions?**
A: I'm guessing your speaking about playing an acoustic guitar, so that is what I will address... I bought this GE-7 to get rid of some nasty frequencies in the mid range of my acoustic guitar set up. Many piezo - electric pick-ups mounted under the saddle tend to over amplify the high frequencies, (string noise, tininess) and it can be tough to dial it out without adversely effecting your over all tone. Give this pedal a try, the GE-7 is bullet proof, and sounds very musical to the ear. Just start by dropping the 6.4k band by 5 dB or so. Small adjustments can make a huge difference. Experiment, have fun and remember that nobody can really tell what sounds perfect to you, but you. I hope this helps.

**Q: Will the EQ pedal work on an acoustic electric guitar, and does it make a lot of hiss noise?**
A: Its not super noisy, the better the cables, the less noise.

**Q: What is the production year of this pedal?**
A: You are going to get varying answers as this pedal is still in production and there are many sellers. There's no guarantee what year you will get.

**Q: One note on my guitar—e 7th fret on the a string—hums and booms super loud when played as a single note. will the boss eq take care of that?**
A: The 7th fret of the A string is the note E3. It has a frequency of 164.8 Hz. By reducing the bottom 2 sliders, at 100 and 200 Hz, but probably more attention on the 200 Hz, you can reduce the boominess of that note. However, you will also reduce those frequency components in all other notes played. You may be able to adjust an individual pole of your pickup(s) up or down depending on your particular pickup. Or may be able to adjust the pickup height on the Low E side. Again, such adjustments will impact a whole range of notes. Another option would be to find a pedal with a notch filter (such as a Boss AD-5 or AD-2) and use that to target the specific offending frequency. Best first step - make sure your guitar is properly set up by a luthier and discuss this issue with them prior to setup.
