Easy to set up
Works well Iโm new to this but it seems to work fine

Quality made
Quality made - build for the price, unlike the cast iron black one's commonly sold - similarly priced online, mine of which quickly became unusable and I've since thrown out.

Good entry level vise. I upgraded after a month of tying jigs.
It is a very basic vise that needs adjustment when setting up for different hooks sizes. Once set, it provides a nice stable base for tying.

A Christmas hit!
Gave this to our 7 year old โobsessed with fishingโ grandson for Christmas and it was a hit! He imidiately learned how to use the vise (thanks to his Dad and a quick lesson) and he was able to make several different types of flies in one afternoon. The vise worked great and held his work tight.

A nice but defect tying tool.
The tool can not claim larger hook, and not hold even smaller size tied. Itโs defect. I used it a few times, the defected claim could not hold the hook tied, and the hooks hooked my hands 3 times. It hurts. The plastic package was broken and dirty, no big deal I am not using plastic bag anyway. It will costs me more to return it, to 10 miles away UPS store.

Not a bad little vise.
I just needed a travel vise for my trips up into the mountains of East Tennessee. This one is perfect for my needs. Wouldn't recommend it as a home vise; however, if you're just starting out and not sure if you're going to stick with it, this one would be a choice. If you get addicted to the art then you can always get one with all the bells and whistles.

Cost effective not cheap.
Wasn't expensive and met my needs. I used it to tie 50 3/4 and 1oz bucktail jigs for flounder so far.

This vice is... Ok
Honestly if you aren't sure if you want to dive into fly tying or if you want to buy one to teach someone else this thing is great value for the cost. It works, though not super easily, it takes a fair bit of adjustment to hold things right and for me at least led to the bad long-term habit of burying the hook point inside the overlarge jaws. But it's well made, strong and should last a long time. But if you can afford it, spend a few extra dollars and get something with some more features.

Get what you Pay for
Does the job, I've tied assist hooks with 5/0 and 4/0 and it fits. I do with the bottom clamp that holds onto the desk had a wider jaw so it can clamp onto thicker things.
