It's a gummy substance, rather than just a tape. The separation tape (not sure what its really called, but the non-sticky tape that you peel off), is a bit of a pain to find the edge of so it should be a little wider than that sticky itself to make it easier to grab. I had to use a thin blade to find an edge.
