## Description

350ml It is a large capacity ink. Color: Black / Type: General writing ink

Review: Pilot Namiki 350ml Ink for Fountain Pens - I first got into fountain pens starting with a Pilot Kakuno and Prera. I believe this is the same ink used in the cartridges that come with those pens. I have only tried a few other inks, but came right back to Namiki black and Namiki blue for daily use. These work well with the finer nibs and standard paper I use - paper not specifically for fountain pens - such as printer paper and spiral notebooks (e.g., ASIN: B003O2RXWE). With this setup, the ink does not bleed through the page or feather. The color of the ink is standard but bold and satisfying. I like the consistency too - it does not seem "watery" or "sludgy". It has a bit of water resistance so that it can withstand some moisture and not just wash off the page. However, I like that it is not pigmented so that I can leave my pens loaded up with it and not worry about gunking up the feeds and nibs. It also seems to resist drying up in my pens, so I can pick them up after a few weeks and start writing without having to clean them out. I previously purchased smaller 60 ml bottles (e.g., ASIN: B005WPTYAA) which themselves lasted me a few years. This 350 ml bottle can be used to refill smaller bottles like those, and smaller bottles can in turn be used to refill pens. I used an eye dropper in my first attempt to transfer ink from the big bottle to a smaller bottle. It worked well and I avoided losing ink or making a mess. Both the 350 ml bottle and 60 ml bottles are mostly glass, with a bit of plastic. Assuming the 350 ml bottle doesn't dry out or get misplaced, it will provide about six refills of a 60 ml bottle, which is awesome. Much of the stuff we consume is disposable and we tend not to think about it too much. I'm guessing that the waste created by disposable pens and pencils isn't a significant part of the burden we put on the environment. However, there's something very satisfying about the cost effectiveness and sustainability that are possible with fountain pens.
Review: You know you want it and YES it is sooo worth it !!! - Your standard wonderful Pilot / Namiki Black Ink in a ginormous container at an AWESOME price! The seller was eXcellent and the ink is exactly what you get in Pilot or Namiki black cartridges. It flows smooth and wet in all my fountain pens, is easy to clean out and works well in my brush pens too. The ink is not the blackest black but depending on how it's put down ranges from deep black to dark charcoal gray which gives it a nice little bit of character in different pens. I would recommend trying this ink out in cartridge form before purchasing this biggee sized bottle BUT it's just such a well behaved classic ink you really cannot go wrong. That said keep in mind this is a bulk refill size and not something you dip your pen into so be sure to have an appropriate container like an old ink bottle that you can refill and use. I've attached some pictures to give everyone an idea of what you are getting. The bottle is large and has a cap similar to what many asian sauces come in, there's a plastic pull tab which when removed creates a slit opening that makes pouring very easy. The cap closes firmly but since I doubt I will be going through this ink quickly I wrapped the cap with teflon tape to create a better seal. I don't know what the rules are on reviews but I included some other common ink bottles for size comparison and I turned the names away or blurred them but as you can see this is a lot of ink. Great ink and an amazing value, highly recommended!!!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Ink, Incredible Value, and an Excellent Shade of Black
*by O***I on November 7, 2020*

Pilot Black ink (350 ml size) is an excellent value ink that writes in a beautiful, aesthetic shade of black. I usually use Noodler's Black, which has its own qualities such as being waterproof, permanent ink etc. Yet, it is a different shade of Black, a little more on the brown side, perhaps like a night permeated with the golden glow of the moon. This black is the actual black, like charcoal black, like the night tinged with starlight -- and no moon. In my opinion, this black ink is a subtle reflection of a culture. You can see this elegance in Japanese paintings. You can try it on TomoeRiver paper and see what I mean. The value is great with this ink. This is the cheapest fountain pen ink on the web by far. I initially bought it for fountain pen calligraphy using a modified Pilot Parallel pen, which gulps ink bottles dry. This will hold it for a while. Also, I expected a mediocre ink, considering the price. (For price comparison, check out ANY fountain pen ink except Noodler's). What I received is an excellent ink, which is quite elegant in writing, smooth and consistent in flow (in many of my pens including brush and calligraphy pens), and best fit for the most expensive, elegant pens that I have. The package arrived quickly-- one day shipping. The cap is sealed, so no leaking. The package contained enough cushion for accident absorption. In sum, this ink is no brainer, really. If you are looking for a black ink, give this a try. You won't be disappointed.
