They have a sample bottles size that would allow you to try it out. Good luck! **Q: Can this simply darken brick as if it were wet? Is it silica-based?** A: The product slightly darkens the brick with the first application, and with the second application if they’re considered a bit more. However, it is not a pleasing darkening… It almost looks dirty. And I would not say it looks wet. Although I bought this for my fireplace, I tried it on the chimney outside to see what the effect was. I decided not to use it on the fireplace. **Q: Can you use a sealant on it after it is applied?** A: I don't know. We used it on brick work grout that had been repaired, but didn't use sealer. I'm sure the seller could answer this question. After trying several products I found this. Gotta to say, it worked a treat. I used a brush and sponge to dab it onto a textured render and arrived at a very satisfactory colour match with several coats.
