Nice solid wire, color coded for the different terminals, very easy to tape together and pull in place of the old wire. Works very well for my 2 stage furnace with AC and now with my smart thermostat, it has all the features over a 5 wire. And now I have an extra wire in case I ever upgrade to geothermal, heat pump, two stage air-conditioner, or just if one of the other wires breaks or has a problem. Good price point too

Great priced spool of 18/7 solid copper thermostat wire. The 7 strands should be enough for even the modern smart thermostats. I have an evaporative cooler with a separate thermostat, and an older furnace with an older 2-wire thermostat. So, to plan for upgrades, I got this to replace the current 2 wire system to add the crucial common wire for a smart thermostat and to also lay the ground work for a future AC installation. This wire is flexible enough to be easy to work with and to fish through small places and corners. Would highly recommend! Wires are really large gauge (small) but that's all you need, I guess. Even the C wire only handles 24 V at about an amp so it's fine. Color coding was a bit off for me but I worked around it. This wire just has a certain heft to it and seems to be quality. Would buy again. Southwire has a good reputation for quality wire product.

I used this wire to connect an advanced ERV controller that has almost all the same features as a normal HVAC thermostat. This wire worked, was not unusually hard to fish through walls, arrived on a spool, and did not have any defects. My ERV and its controller have been operating great for weeks now. Good product!

Great product but these are not gauge 18 wires. I tried to use gauge 18 wire stripper on them but it was too big to remove insulation. I ended up using gauge 20 wire stripper. Packaging does not mention wire gauge. 4 star because product info mentions gauge 18 on Amazon and that is not correct. The cable is easy to fish and works well.
