The SOLAS tape patches on life jackets and foul weather gear are ALWAYS sewn around the edges. The different stiffness of the fabric and tape makes them comd apart, and the waterproof coating on these fabrics also does not bond well to adhesives. If your cloth is going to flex at all, either use the sew-on reflective tape, or use a urethane adhesive (like GOOP or patch adhesive) under the rflective tape. Stack weight on it and allow 24-48 hours for a cure.
