The detailing and coloring are wonderfully realistic. Many expensive figurines are not half as good as this "toy." I have most of the Schleich African elephants and all are beautiful. (Have an Asian female and calf, too, and they are equally accurate.) **Q: Is this the same elephant that comes in the wild life starter set?** A: Not sure if it comes in a set. I bought mine one piece at a time bull, cow then the calf. Great detail. The quality is excellent and I know my son will get countless years of play out of them. We bought these, along with a variety of other African, farm, and woodland Schleich animals, for my son's 2nd Birthday party - which was party animal themed! I knew they'd be a good investment because their use would last long after the party! (I don't have a picture of the elephant, but I've included one of some of the other animals.) I made the mini party hats for the animals to wear and I think it made a big impact, decor-wise for the party. I couldn't recommend Schleich more!!
