Prime-Line U 9398N Self-Locking Shelf Support Pegs are clear plastic, precision-engineered pegs designed to securely hold 3/4 inch thick shelves. Featuring serrated stems and self-locking tabs, each peg supports up to 5 lbs, preventing shelf tipping and rotation. The package includes mounting hardware and instructions for easy installation and flexible shelf repositioning, making it an ideal solution for modern, secure shelving setups.

## Description

These shelf pegs are constructed of plastic and come in a clear finish for increased concealment. They are designed to receive 3/4 inch thick shelves and can support a maximum of 5 lbs. each, per peg. The main feature of these shelf pegs is the self-locking tabs that secure the 3/4 inch thick shelves in place, preventing tipping and rotating of shelves. The 1/4 inch outside diameter pegs have a 5/16 inch depth and feature serrated stems for a stronger grip. See Prime-Line parts U 10181 for 5/8 inch thick shelves, and U 11301 for 3/8 inch thick shelves (w/5mm outside diameter peg). Adjustment Tip: To remove and relocate these support pegs, the tabs which lock in the shelves must be pushed in and held in while twisting the shelf upward in a clockwise direction if lifting the shelf from the left side. If shelf will be lifted upward starting from the right side, push and hold in the locking tabs of the support pegs (on the right) while twisting the shelf upward in a counter-clockwise direction from the right side. To accomplish this task a third or fourth hand may be required. Another option would be to slide in a couple of old credit cards or business cards in between the shelf's edge and the locking tab of the support pegs... this may assist causing the locking tabs to be pressed in by the cards when pushing up on one side of the shelf. Make sure the cards to be used are no longer needed as it is possible they will scratch and no longer be useful. Once the shelf is removed from its supports, the supports can be pulled out from the cabinet and relocated to desired height.

Review: Fit well, solid support - I bought these so I could relocate a shelf in a cabinet, which had been installed with this type of clip. The shelf fit so tightly that I had to break two of the clips to remove it. I fully expected those clips to be brittle due to their age, but they weren't. These new clips were a perfect replacement. They were easy to install and fit securely.

**Q: Is the diameter of the peg 5/16" or 1/4"?**
A: 1/4"

**Q: the 1/4 inch peg is too big what size should i buy?**
A: Same thing happened to me.  The 1/8 " was too small and the 1/4" was too
big.  So I got a calculator and figured out that between those two is 3/16"
and Amazon sells this size.  I received them just today, 11/18 and they WORK !    Try that size.

**Q: How many pegs come in an order? Is it one peg, or four pegs to hold one shelf? Or more?**
A: There are 4 pcs. in 1 package.

**Q: What is one size bigger than this? These are just a little too small for our existing peg holes. I'm confused by all the measurements.**
A: If these are 1/4 inch pegs it sounds like you may need at least the 3/8 inch peg?  Take a ruler and measure across the center of the hole and that should be the size of the peg you will need!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exactly Fits 1/4" Hole...Verified with Drill Bit

When we got the shelf pegs, they were too large for our cupboard hole. We got out the drill and realized that the hole was not 1/4". We pulled out each drill bit up until it got to 1/4" and once we drilled that, the part fit. I'm hoping it lasts as long as the old shelf pegs as they lasted 20 years before they cracked and broke. It would be nice if it were made out of something a little stronger as the old shelf pegs were a thicker plastic, but they did last 20 years. We moved all the heavy stuff to the bottom shelf and put the lighter items on the top shelf. This is being used for a bottom set of cupboards.
