I have had some experience trading commodity futures. I decided to purchase it. Carley's writing stands apart because she has focused on providing her insight throughout the book as she brings in subject matter chapter by chapter in a methodical, incremental and meaningful way. This insight is based on her own experience in Commodity trading. Second things is: I felt that Carley was there reminding me of the big picture throughout the book (as it is easy to forget it when lost I details) even as she took me through necessary details of technical and fundamental analysis, seasonal tendencies of commodities, commitment of traders reports, trading strategies, heging, risk management, Margin considerations etc,. She has given all the details of trading basics in fact. Next, in addition to giving the background-knowledge (static) for commodity trading Carley has given specific information (dynamic) how to keep up to date with the latest commodity reports, news and analysis by reading what her experience has taught her as the best and most reputed publications like HighTower publication. Carley sheds extra light even on seemingly familiar activities like put writing. It was an eye opener and a very big one at that when I learned that the huge bid/ask spread created on far out of the money put spreads when the stock market melted down in 2015 could have killed traders who sold many such spreads thinking such spreads are safe in that one can always get out in a reasonable way! I feel that Carley's book does complete justice to its title in that provides practical knowledge to recognize high probability trading. There is also enough subtle humor in the book. Last but not the least I will say there are two whole chapters on tips and tricks and how to use it based on our own personality where she also talks about psychology of trading, ego battles with the market, problems of overtrading and practical tips on how to avoid it, etc,. I loved reading the chapters: 'Thinking outside the Box' and 'The Hidden Gems of Commodity Trading'.
