The size was perfect for a day trip in an attraction where they are very strict about the size of bag you bring inside. To my surprise, I was actually able to carry a LOT more than I expected. As a result, I used this bag for the rest of our 2 wk. trip. I loved that I could easily switch from backpack to sling- not perfectly but it worked out very well as we were often rushing. My only gripe is that the small water bottle fell out easily when not in the upright position. So, I kept it inside the bag instead. Again, surprisingly, it fit well! I don’t like the stress of having things on my back that pickpockets can get into (the good ones can get into your bags and pockets even when they are visible to you). I am traveling “hands free” with this backpack with peace of mind—straps are cutproof, material is slash proof, exterior zippers have locking tabs, interior RFID pocket. This is small and lightweight. Bonus because it is flat—it can be used as a backrest on the plane and train. Best of all, it converts from a backpack to a crossbody bag. The only reason I gave it a 4, instead of 5, is that the zippers don’t pull as smoothly as they could. I would have sent it back for a replacement, but needed it right away for a trip.
