Hamilton Beach 76501 Black Can Opener

Nice little can opener. Me being the husband i took a little while to get this to connect to the tin edge but once I had and got the knack of it, it was easy, fine. Unlike my wife who needs to use this all the time as she is the only cook in the house. She cannot get it to connect to the tin at all. Mmmm. I give it 4 star from me but zero from the wife.

Not good, won't charge, won't work

I’ve used many can openers in my life, electric and manual. I favored manual over electric for years, easy to store and usable on many sizes of cans. Manuals have been difficult for me for several years, and it was impossible to find a good, new manual opener to replace my old, broken manual opener. Most countertop, electric can openers only open standard sized cans.This little Hamilton Beach ( 76501G ) can opener is the BEST, besides being adorable, it works great! I’ve had mine since 2023 and it still works well as of Feb. 2026. It circles the can quickly and even opens dented cans. It holds a charge well, though I use it often. It does not have a charge indicator light; I just charge it overnight when it gets slow. If I let it run completely out of charge, I just plug it in, wait about thirty seconds, leave it plugged in and it still opens the can quickly, but I hold the cord up a bit, out of the way, so it does not wrap around the can.I have used it to open the many sizes of round-top cans, including gallon size, large and small tuna cans, and tiny six-ounce cans. I hold the bottom of the six-ounce cans, or they will tip. Small tuna cans, I stack to open. I have not opened a rectangular, or triangular can yet. The magnet on the handle lifts the lid, when you lift the handle slightly. The handle also holds the blade, and easily removes from the unit by lifting slightly farther than just to remove the lid from the can. The handle may then be submerged to wash, but the rest of the unit can only be wiped with a damp cloth. When not in use, I keep my can opener in a bowl in the cabinet.The handle and unit housing are plastic, so it should be used without much force. It took me a bit to get accustomed to placing it properly on the can to cut, but I can do it with one hand now. I love this little can opener!

There is nothing bad to say about this cordless can open easy to clean easy to use great for people that there hands don’t work so well this is my second one my first is still going strong I bought this for my daughter you don’t need an issue with your hands to have this cordless can opener is stores away in a drawer easily it keeps it’s charge for quite awhile or you can leave on the counter it’s look fine there to and doesn’t take much room I hope the manufacturer keeps the price down because out of everything I’ve seen out there this is the one compact keeps the charge you can plug in while using easy cleaning looks great on shelf or counter in the drawer I can’t say anything bad about this item I lov it and thank you to the manufacture formaking my life so mush easier you know it’s the little things that you appreciate the most just saying 😊🇨🇦

My first one of these can openers lasted me about 10 years! I love that it is so easy to use, doesn't have to be plugged in so it can be used anywhere in the kitchen, and fits in a drawer if you want to put it there. It charges quickly and easily. Then, one day. the battery in my can opener just quit charging. The bad thing is that it takes a battery pack, and I don't know how a person can replace it. Not a problem, I thought! I will just buy another one! Unfortunately, I could not find one anywhere! I searched for over a year....and finally one seller on Amazon had some! You know I ordered one immediately! I can only hope it lasts as long as my first one, and that Hamilton Beach starts to make them again by then!
