From the samples I heard, I really liked the weird, somehow organic modulations on the repeats. My particular unit showed up with the internal modulation pot set to zero, so there was absolutely NO modulation. If I didn't know about the internal pots I would have totally returned it, you could basically get that sound with a 50$ pedal. But I opened it up, found a tiny slot screwdriver, and with the unit on and plugged in, I gently turned the mod pot control on the circuit board til I heard some modulation on the repeats, and found the sweet spot. That modulation then changes characteristics depending how you set the tone control, which is the true magic of this pedal.. with higher treble the repeats get progressively thinner, And below 12:00 they get progressively thicker, but there are also more un-nameable characteristics that happen either way you go, that make this pedal worth the money.. it seems they really pulled off a close approximation of the old Binsons, in that there are so many little nuances in the modulations, that make the tone control priceless. Thank god I knew about the internal mod setting.. (There's also 2 other internal settings btw that are less consequential.) The original Echorec is famous and this pedal has quite a well-earned reputation. This pedal sounds great and has a huge range of sounds. In particular the combination of the 12 different modes and the tone control open up just so many possibilities. The internal trim pots add even more. This is to say that this pedal requires experimentation and you'll probably find multiple setting that you like for different reasons and that suit different styles. So, if you are into tweakability and experimentation this pedal could be for you. If you want something straight forward and simple, maybe look into something else. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ perfect....for somebody *by G***Y on Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2019* Very interesting pedal, almost tempted to give it 5 stars just for being unique. It replicates the stuttering sound one might get off of a scratched CD. It's not exactly random in its delay pattern, which I think helps. In fact, if there was a knob or a switch to control just how random the pattern is, I think that would be a big help. Then it could be used on a rhythmic guitar track.
