The antenna has a MALE connector, which is determined by the center pin on the antenna's connector. **Q: is this a digital scanner?** A: Yes, if your local police is not using a digital mode, this scanner will get it. Many Highway Patrols and State Police agencies, as well as Sheriffs Departments are still using analog. Some are using Digital but are still transmitting on their old analog channels.
