What is the diameter of the bottom of this item? I have an oversized coffee mug and am wondering if this will sit securely on top.

It measures 4 3/8" across the bottom. if your mug is bigger then you could lay a couple of sticks across it and place the coffeemaker on that.

Can this be used with reusable filter?

I have a #2 reusable filter of the correct shape that I use with an ancient Melitta plastic cone that is #2. Why won't this work with my reusable filter? Has the actual size of "#2" changed?

is this like the older melitta cones that go to a tight wedge at bottom and has 4 small holes?

It does go to a wedge with a rounded bottom, can’t speak to ‘tightness’, and has a single hole.

What’s the material?

The cone is made of plastic and the filter paper is made from bamboo..
