It gives the same general information as the M9 camera booklet that accompanies the camera but for me it is easier to get into and more interesting as well. It is, as one would expect, an "expanded" manual...which is pretty obvious considering the name of the book. So I fail to comprehend the reviews that are less than flattering when the author/publisher made no great claims that this was a plethora of untold M9 knowledge. So yes, it is the same information you can find in the manual but "expanded" in regards to depth of information on a specific function with supportive guides, instructions and visual aids to help a newcomer to the M9 learn about the camera. I've shot Leica's before in digital and film and I found the guide useful. Plus it does contain information regarding subjects such as lens selection, post processing of images, available accessories and other info that is not going to be covered in a guide. If you're curious, pick it up. Leica users tend to be a fickle crowd who pride themselves in being inherently brilliant simply because they own a Leica rather than being capable photographers.
