Hunter NODE-BT-100 Bluetooth Battery Operated Sprinkler Controller with Solenoid, Waterproof Irrigation Timer, Easy Install, for Gardens, Lawns, Parks, Greenhouses

Life-changing compared to my impossible-to-program original Hunter timer. Bluetooth and the ability to program and modify settings via app made ALL the difference. If you had a Hunter controller like its predecessor, think of the upgrade as Flintstones to Jetsons. I thought I could never forgive Hunter for their old POS controller, but their EXTREME MAKEOVER of this device has allowed me to forgive the past, yet not forget. To be clear, I love this new Hunter controller.

I use this instead of the Add-A-Zone that all irrigation techs use. easy to program. app works great on the iphone. customer can control this much easier that the wired AAZ. Its a hunter product to replace old style Nodes.

I replaced the previous version Node with the screen with this new Bluetooth model. Connecting it took 2 minutes and once I’d downloaded the app it was very quick to set up and I was watering my grass in no time at all. This is a fantastic product with a very simple user interface. I highly recommend this product.

Works great! Right out of the box after you run your drip system. The interface on your phone is clear. My only complaint is that it doesn’t work from far away like a google nest thermometer would work for example. So you have to be standing right next to it to change anything. Perhaps that will be in a later update. Great product!

I had to replace an older NODE that starting operating erratically. This bluetooth model is a great improvement. Replacement of the old unit was very straightforward. It’s easy to install, with just two wires to connect to the rain sensor. There are various video guides online if you need them. The instruction manual that comes in the box is clearly written, though simplistic. The new user interface available for cell phones is great! It is very much improved from the clunky step by step set up you had to go through with the older units. With the new cell phone app the set up of the watering times, days, intervals is far easier than it used to be. The only disappointment is that the bluetooth range is limited. I know that being down in a hole in the ground reduces the radio power, but it would nice in a future model to engineer a better antenna. I get about 20 feet of connectivity with it. It’s fine if I’m on the patio near the unit. I can connect to the NODE-BT inside near a window just above the unit, but not from anywhere else indoors. Overall, a great improvement. Bluetooth range is limited.

Somehow the plumbers broke the first one. Did work great. They installed a irrigation back flow system, installed this in green box rewiring/threading the Solenoid through a pipe to the surface that is too small to retract it the other way should it break. Meaning after they’re finished and it no longer worked I can’t just slip the old one out and slip new one in. Make sure they use a pipe so solonoid goes through easily so that you can change it out when it breaks. In the meantime, it is working, just fine living all inside the green box in the ground with the lid on, no exterior mount. I have to take that bracket down after I know a second summer it communicates (20 feet away from modem love WIFI) with my phone living fully inside the irrigation box. So good I bought a second one without fighting/begging the plumber’s about anything. The photo is the one that no longer works installed above ground. Hope this helps someone.

I needed a sprinkler controller for a single valve. Other devices require manual programming, and I had been disappointed in battery life. This unit has Bluetooth and a decent app that allows seasonal adjustment. The problem with this product is that the solenoid only fits Hunter valves, which have a smaller diameter screw hole for the solenoid. I figured out that latching valves from Orbit and Rainbird have compatible voltage ratings, and can be grafted onto the NODE-BT wiring. I used soldered connections and heatshrink tube with glue to switch the solenoids, The red/black wires are correct, but you should still check them before you install.

I had the original Node valve controller and I dreaded programming the device. Although the bluetooth range of this device is limited as others have mentioned, it still works from within my house. Setting up times, schedules, or making any modifications to the programming is SO MUCH EASIER in the app than the previous combinations of button pressing on the little LCD screen. I am very pleased with the water proofing used on this device as well. It should last for a long time.
