I personally removed the compartments at the top and now use that as a general waste bin with standard bin liners. **Q: where do you get replcement filters** A: You can purchase Carbon cotton deodorization filters on Amazon and these can be cut to size. Also the reviews suggested the sensor on cheaper bins would break after a year. I bought this as it's got the guarantee, after giving in to the other half after buying our house. Expensive month and the bin at over £100 wasn't in my immediate plans. Honestly though, it's decent and looks better than any cheap bin. I've removed the top sections and we use as a small bin and the bottom as recycling section that wheels out very easily. Nice touch. You can't overfill the top as the plastic trim doesn't remove and you could have a ripped bag split all over the bin.
