Although the fibers are not perfectly cut into tapered rounds, none of the hairs frayed or kinked. The brushes hold more water than taklon, but less than squirrel or sable hair brushes. I have included a small tester of the lines and thicknesses of each brush to help inform others. My advice when using these brushes is to go slow and vary pressure. They worked surprisingly well for stippling and give great dry brush textures. If you want something soft with no spring, look for squirrel hair or sable.
