How is this mister powered?

A 1/4” line is too small for the air inlet. I measured the bore and its 5/16”. I was surprised to see it did not come with the air inlet hose as it’s displayed in one of the pictures

The title says upgrade version - what's been upgraded?

I own one of the old ones and one of the new one. I like the units for what I do, but I can't find any functional differences between the two. The base of the new unit now has two painted on markings to indicate which is the air line and which is the lubricant line. But the suction tube for the lubricant line comes with the unit and since the lubricant line is way to small for the air line fitting, I think it is pretty intuitive as to which tube goes into which fitting. So I don't find a lot of value in having those markings on the base. But I suppose the clarification is an added touch as long as they don't charge extra for it.

Can this be used on a portable band saw that is set up for horizontal and vertical cutting stand? I'm concerned about the rubber tires.

I've used it on my CNC mill and the coolant builds up on the work table and flows out the work table drain hole into a bucket. Nice controllable mist. So you will need a drain pan to catch the accumulated coolant. I want coolant for my horizontal bandsaw also but not mist. In college they had a drain pan and flood coolant that recirculates. That is what I would do. Then just clean out the dust size chips regularly. Never heard of mist on a bandsaw only flood that recirculates. Otherwise dump the mist accumulation fluid and don't run it back through the mist nozzle or you could plug it up. Flood can recirculate mist you dump out as waste.

What is the I.D. of the exit hole in the nozzle? From the pictures it looks like it might be a smaller/finer opening than some similar models.

Inexpensive and not bad at all.

I tested it with 10W30 engine oil at 20 psi and it worked. It will be Ok with soluble oil. Flexibility of the output tube is on the stiff side.(the opposite of my concern when I choose it). I need to make an adaptor to affix it to a magnetic base holder.
