Review: Updated 8/19/16: I've ordered these vitamins 7 times on desertcart, from 11/13 to the present time. During that period, the price that I have personally paid has varied between 9.99 and 14.99, a very wide range, when purchased either from desertcart itself or from one of the third party sellers who have fulfillment by desertcart and offer prime shipping. The historical price variation going back to 2011 shows a low of about 8.50 from desertcart and brief periods of lower prices from third party sellers. This is a product where it may be beneficial to watch the pricing on desertcart and order when the price happens to dip down, as it does regularly. My most recent order came at a time when I was needing to replenish my supply and could not wait to watch the prices until they came down, but it's now something that I'll be paying closer attention to when I get close to needing to resupply again. My original review text follows, unchanged. I take a selection of vitamins and supplements daily. In deciding to incorporate these into my daily routine, and in order to determine as best I can what the proper supplements and dosages are that I should take, I've decided that a good B complex supplement is important to include. The guidance I'm relying on, from Eating Well for Optimum Health: The Essential Guide to Food, Diet, and Nutrition among other resources, is that I should include a B complex supplement that includes, among other things, at least 400 mcg folic acid (one of the unnumbered B-vitamins). After reviewing the various choices available here on desertcart and elsewhere, I decided to select this Nature's Way product. The detailed ingredients can be viewed on this desertcart product page, so I will only highlight a few key points regarding ingredients: Thiamin -- 100 mg Riboflavin -- 100 mg Niacin -- 100 mg Vitamin B6 -- 100 mg Folic Acid -- 400 mcg Vitamin B12 -- 100 mcg Biotin -- 100 mcg The container does not say anything regarding soy or gluten content, however the only other ingredients listed are gelatin (capsule), cellulose, and magnesium stearate. It also does not specify whether or not these supplements are manufactured in the U.S. The Nature's Way website also does not provide any information on these points ([...] but it does give the ability to contact them with questions. I sent an e-mail to Natures Way asking about these points, and was informed the following: - these capsules do contain soy, as well as yeast, corn, dairy products (unspecified). - they are gluten free - they are manufactured in the U.S. (Green Bay, WI) - Nature's Way has their own quality program to ensure the quality of the ingredients used in their products. They sent me a copy of their Quality Standards letter, which describes the many tests used in their facilities to monitor quality. They also mentioned the following which I think are notable (most of the following text is taken from their letter): --- The facility in which Enzymatic Therapy®, Nature's Way®, and Integrative Therapeutics(tm) brands are manufactured has Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Certification. GMP Certification confirms that a facility is in compliance with the dietary supplement GMP standards. Certification is awarded by NSF International, an independent, not-for-profit organization that supports regulatory standards through onsite audits and inspections. **Q: Are they synthetic or natural ingredients?**
A: It depends on your definition of "synthetic" and "natural".  Keep in mind that even most supplements that are labeled as "natural" didn't just appear in nature as they are found in the supplement. The key ingredients in "natural" supplements still had to be EXTRACTED in order to build the formula that makes up the supplement. Thus, you won't be walking down a country road on day and find Pyrodoxal 5-Phosphate (vitamin b-6) hanging off of a tree which you can just pluck off and eat. So you see, "natural" can mean so many different things to different people, it just depends on what YOU call are calling "natural".  Keep in mind that in some cases, some vitamins that occur naturally, might not be the best form of that vitamin or may have poor absorption as compared to an "enhanced" form a vitamin or mineral. What I can tell you is this. There is nothing that sticks out in this B-100 formulation that is inherently synthetic. As a matter of fact, Nature's Way went a step further than many of the lower quality formulas and included two different forms each of Vitamin B-2 (Riboflavin -AND- Riboflavin 5-phosphate), Vitamin B-6 (Pyrodoxine HCI - AND - Pyrodoxal 5-phosphate) to make sure that your body has maximum benefit from a more complete form of the vitamin. For example Pyrodoxine HCI form of Vitamin B-6 can have benefits in the body that Pyrodoxal 5-phosphate form of B-6 does not have and vice versa.  Additionally, some of the cheaper B-Complex formulas out there will leave out one or more of the B family such as B-12 or some of the B co-factors such as Inositol and Choline. These are all included in this B-100 formula so if you are looking for a well formulated Vitamin B complex that is also affordable then this one is definitely worth giving a try.

**Q: can you cut b 100 in half to make them b 50**
A: Sorry, no, this is a capsule that has powder inside.  It's not a hard capsule or tablet that you can cut in half.

**Q: I think mine have expired earlier than what the print says. There' spots on them and smell slightly off. Is this ok or would you say that they're bad?**
A: If your vitamins soften or develop dark spots, it means they have already started degrading and should probably be discarded.

A: They are pretty good sized capsules. Almost an inch long and about ⅓ of an inch wide.
