That is the case here, with whole mulberries in a sugary jam of thinnish consistency. If you make your own jams and don't add a lot of pectin, you will be familiar with the notion. I admit I was a bit put off initially by the whole berries and stems, but now I rather fancy the rustic nature of the preparation. If you desire a homogeneous, heavily processed product or are expecting a dramatic flavor difference from other fruit jams, you may be disappointed.The flavor is quite concentrated and good, but then again most jams taste similar to me. What tends to distinguish a jam for me is the consistency.
