These things are made to crash. Many of the track sets are crash sets. I do not think any case would be a problem for these cars. I have cars 20 years old and old match box cars that have been placed in plastic buckets that still look new. **Q: Can this hold the Hot Wheels monster trucks?** A: Don't worry about it holding monster trucks. It holds no car in place. Only one divider that doesn,t even hold one side in place (unless you find away to keep your finger/hand inside the case while closing) Soon as you want to close the case cars spill out everywhere. Very frustrating for a 6 year old boy and his Grandma. We can't return or risk that the person that gave it as X-mas present is disappointed as well having chosen a personalized gift instead of gift card. **Q: What are the dimensions and how heavy is it?** A: It's lightweight, but durable, plastic. I don't have it handy to do dimensions (gift for Christmas to my nephew), but I'd say 14 x 18 and 3" deep. The little cars fit in nose or bumper first.
