They are obviously ill. if you have a large repository of grasshopper population near you, for instance if you are surrounded by fields of grains, then this might not work for you. I do not have a whole lot of influx of new grasshoppers, so this stuff has been wonderful for me. I distributed small amounts in my various vegetable gardens, using white plastic bins from the dollar store turned on their side, this keeps the brand from getting blown around or wet in the rain and grasshoppers are supposedly attracted to white things. I add another tablespoon or so to each box every 3 weeks or so across the growing season so there is always some fresh bait. Easy, and Incredibly effective. We haven't had swarms of grasshoppers since we used this..it'll be 2 years this summer. **Q: Is the bait applied to the soil? Thanks.** A: Yes, you sprinkle it onto the grass. It is safe to use around children, pets, and wildlife. It doesn't work quite as well as some toxic chemicals, but is far safer.
