They either age out or, back in the early 00's their power supply would crap out. My client base are attorneys and benefit from the site-to-site VPNs and, although not as much as before, still VPNs are in use where there are still onsite servers in play. Firewall snobs scoff at these devices, and have their valid criticisms, but given the limited requirements I have and the limited budget and the infrequency with which I deploy them for my relatively small client base and my resultant inability to remember Cisco OS commands, these fit the bill JUST FINE. I've never cussed out these firewalls or the company late at night solving problems, which is the best testament I could offer for any gear.
