Works well but takes too long, about 12 hours to charge. The 240VAC charges about 3 times faster and at a very reasonable price. The website has a lot of useful information. Go with NEMA 14-30 outlet. It has a ground terminal and can handle much higher currents compared to a dryer type outlet, NEMA 10-30. The holster comes in very handy. Snaps right into place. Installed a watt-meter so I can monitor the input voltage and current any time. If anything goes wrong like voltage dropping too much or current draw is too high or too low, the meter will show it. Attached is a picture of it.June 15, 2020An update. Been over 2.5 years and still working well. No signs of wear and tear at all. No cracks on insulation or plastic even at the stress relief joints. The car gets plugged in 2 to 3 times per day. Well made product. After reading about 20 Amazon reviews of other customers who bought chargers from other companies including Siemens and Chinese brands I came across Clipper Creek’s positive reviews and noticed their chargers are made in the US and come with a 3-year warranty, which beats any other product!! I had an electrician do the installation of the plug-in outlet, an on/off switch and preparation for 240 volt conversion , so when the charger arrived I just used 4 screws and installed the charger next to the outlet. Very easy to do even for a novice. The charger has worked flawlessly from day 1, I sometimes use it 2-3 times a day like on the weekends for example. My charging time is less then 2 hours now for a full charge instead of 7 hours with 115 Volt charger that came with my car (BMW 530e). Even with 25 ft. of cable, it stores the cable neatly wrapped around the unit. I did not use the included wall-mounted holster, but let the connector hang just as shown. Obviously, it just plugs in to a dryer outlet and works just like the OEM Chevy Volt 110 v unit, except three times faster charging. It was delivered promptly, directly from ClipperCreek, with good packaging for damage-free delivery.
