The bins themselves are strong, heavy duty, and well designed. I use them almost exclusively in my home projects and storage needs. This is the first time I have ever had any problems with them, but it really is all down to rough shipping and handling by UPS, coupled with somewhat loose packing protocols. The company needs to review their packing practices and rethink how they package and ship their product. In my observation, shipping the bins stacked inside each other with lids open [except for the top unit] contributes to damage risk when coupled with very rough handling by UPS. In my last order, 3 of 6 bins had pretty severely damaged lids, all of them being those with lids open during shipping. In addition, the units are shipped in a pretty loose box with no packaging materials to keep them from rattling around inside or cushion them when dropped or banged around during shipping. This seems to me to be a simple precaution that needs to be taken. Couple this with UPS handlers/drivers who literally toss or drop these boxes and damage is almost a certainty. I have personally observed and *heard* these boxes being tossed or dropped onto my concrete drive outside my door, after which the driver runs back to their van. Other than the above issues, I enthusiastically recommend this product and the company that makes [and distributes] it. Customer Service was kind, polite, and immediate in responding to my complaints. Communication was clear, prompt, and considerate. I received replacement items *very* quickly. I am deeply appreciative of these qualities, which are sometimes sorely absent in today's world.

Sturdy, easy to handle, great vivid green color. My company used boxes like this to move our offices a few years back. They rented them from a local company. I've owned clear attached lid containers from big box and retail stores and there is no comparison. The movers destroyed several of them in my last move even though they were filled with lightweight stuff. This box is solid and I love the price. These boxes are water-resistant. There are small gaps on the top of the box on either end of the interlocking lid. If the box is left in standing standing water below the lid level, you would be fine. However, if they were left in the rain, some of the water would enter the box. The box was not advertised as being waterproof and therefore shouldn't be evaluated based on a feature it's not supposed to have. I had 6 bankers boxes of books and only used 4 of these to store the contents. I am more than pleased with the capacity, quality, and stacking.

One star due to misleading info. Not sure if this is Amazon vs Akro-Mils. I have ordered these several times before. All previous orders I have received 6 bins. I clicked on "order again" tab and reordered. Lo and behold, only 1 arrives!! Do you really think 1 bin is worth anywhere between 60-130 dollars? I can buy one used for $5 but would have to drive 25 minutes. Now I can see that it is worth the drive. There clearly is something wrong with the description by Amazon as even the dimensions are incorrect. Very deceptive. The bins themselves are ok. They do lock with zip ties. They hold more than bankers boxes and do stack. I do like the Akro-Mils bins with locking handles more, tho they aren't as sturdy as these, but are water resistant if you plan to keep storing items in them.

I ordered 6 of the blue and 6 of the gray as part of a Woot deal through Amazon. Unfortunately the bottom blue in the stack of 6 had a chunk of the bottom shattered out of it. The rest look good, and I am impressed with the quality. Unfortunately it seems I cannot get ONE replacement so I'd have to send all 6 back for a credit, then pay a lot more to reorder. At this point I'd rather just keep the 5 good bins for the price, since they are still very nice. POST MOVE UPDATE: These held up incredibly well to moving, even when heavily loaded and stacked up to 5 high in the truck. Everything in them was in perfect condition with just a thin layer of bubblewrap used. Very, very pleased with them. I had even ordered 3 or the taller model for my collectable photography books and they were great.

This is the only thing I buy for storage at home anymore. Drop one of those cheap tubs from the store from waist high, even with nothing in it, and the brittle plastic breaks apart, and you've got a useless tub. Not so with these guys. They're tough, durable, and convenient. I built a shelving system in my garage around these bins, and now have room to store a whole bunch of them. I use the colors to categorize contents. Gray is general storage, red is emergency supplies, green will become holiday decoration this year. Not sure what I'll use blue for yet. The only thing I wish was different was the ability to mix and match colors in a single order. I understand that this isn't geared toward the home user though, and commercial or industrial buyers aren't going to need one or two, so I buy them 6 at a time, and inevitably find uses for them later. In fact, I really like having at least a few empty ones on hand, so I always have one when I need it. You get what you pay for. These are awesome bins and absolutely worth the investment.

These tote boxes are strong much better than what you can get at home centers you can stack them six high without worrying the bottom one will collapse. I have about 2 dozen of them. I got the last ones on Prime Day and they were less than $20.00 each and with free shipping they are way cheaper than ULine.

I got 6, they were all damaged upon arrival. I contacted Amazon and was required that I returned the damaged items. The box barely fit through my car door. It was awkward and heavy too. The items themself appear nice, they are made of a heavy thick BUT are a brittle plastic. With any impact they will shatter verses flexing and absorbing the impact like the flimsier alternatives (which are superior) For a split lid design this plastic will be stronger for stacking but there is also is a higher chance of cracking/splitting and as you can see these are not cheap items. I returned the items and did not reorder for many reasons.
