I had to google how to replace the barrel. It’s was fun and if you’re handy it’s no problem and the barrel did the job. Mine had a pastel pencil nib stuck in it, so I had to completely take it apart to get it out. I now have a spare barrel. For how expensive the original sharpener was this is a terrible design. Review: Disappointing - I barely used the sharpener at all before needing to replace the blade. Hopefully this new blade lasts a while. The new blade works very well and sharpens to a fine point. Note that it wasn't so trivial to replace the blade and my sharpener lost its automatic "stop when sharp" sensor.
