There is pigment in the product, it seems to activate while you are rubbing, I think it is more of a gimmick than anything, choose the color closest to what you typically buy, if you are light, buy light, I wear nude, beige, natural beige from Revlon typically, I bought medium. I think I could have also used light medium, maybe. **Q: why does my tube say "A large spectre" on it?
