## Description

Introducing a new Commercial Grade tool the B'ROOT BAR - Vertical Axe/Root-Bar, this is a specialized tool, which is different from traditional and currently similar tools on the market. If we look at a modern tamping bar, it's designed to dig in the dirt, bust up ground filled with clay, rocks, gravel, ice, and debris. A tamper bar traditionally has a chisel type edge on a narrow blade. A Vertical Axe/Root-Bar is more specialized, as it is designed to cut wood found in trees, roots, and other dense vegetation. It's not an axe that you swing, but it's an axe that you thrust, throw down, or drop vertically. Typically, this is done in confined spaced areas such as fence-post holes, tile/utility line trenches, or up against areas such as permanent landscape elements that can not be moved, or need to be protected from heavy machinery. Often on these construction sites, large trees with extensive root systems can impede the progress or add cost to deal with these barriers. The Vertical Axe/Root-Bar allows workers to cut through that wood material deep in a hole or narrow trench effectively and efficiently, which saves time, energy, labor costs, and allows for safer working conditions. The axe head that was designed for this project is unique, in that it will be mounted to the end of a long driver bar, but the geometries that make it an efficient cutting tool, has it's lineage in axes. This is one of the reasons that axes are still one of the most efficient wood cutting tool.

Review: A simple tool. A quality product you'll love - I was very skeptical about how well this tool would work. And like many others I was disappointed that the ax arrived in a beat up and torn box. And the ax had fallen out of the plastic piece meant to protect the blade. BUT the vertical ax works and works beyond expectations. Even with the bad packaging the ax is still very sharp and makes quick work carving up roots. Of course, quick is defined by how strong you are and how much stamina you have. It is heavy and I got the 60 inch one. I'm 75 and have massive tree roots. I wholeheartedly recommend this product. I know it's expensive, but after trying it out it is well worth the money.
Review: Seriously heavy and long multi-tool means business- weart safety goggles when using! - This tool is seriously long and heavy, but if you can wield it, you can cut up and pull up lots of items that otherwise defy prying up and removing-- like bamboo roots and shoots that should never have been planted in a Northeastern U.S. yard. Will also dig holes in compacted soils and, in some instances, move slates or rocks. As with any tool, wear safety goggles when using; and if it does not do the job, switch to a different approach (like renting excavation equipment). But very useful in the garden , or in demolishing things that must go (like nailed boards that need to be pried apart but are too large or long for a pry bar to to the job). What it roots out or pries regrets having challenged you! Sometimes it goes flying. So, again- wear safety goggles if and when you use this beast!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How much does it weigh ?**
A: It weighs just under 20 lbs. A regular tamping bar weighs 17.

**Q: Is there a shorter version - 48”?**
A: Due to steel allocations we have not been able to produce the 48" tool this season.
We will be happy to notify you when they have been restocked.
Thank you and have a great day.

**Q: what is the diameter of the shaft? what is the weight of the tool? Is this 1 piece or is the head mounted on the shaft?**
A: I haven’t weight the tool...
But I’d guess it at 30lbs.
The tool is one solid piece of steel.

**Q: Can you use a sledge hammer to drive it through roots? Please only answer if you know for sure.**
A: As long as you keep the edge sharp it works very well. It requires some strength as it becomes very heavy to the arms after using for a while. I would highly recommend this and enjoy using it for a work out as well as the intended use of getting rid of my surface roots so the mower will not bottom out.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A simple tool. A quality product you'll love

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Seriously heavy and long multi-tool means business- weart safety goggles when using!

This tool is seriously long and heavy, but if you can wield it, you can cut up and pull up lots of items that otherwise defy prying up and removing-- like bamboo roots and shoots that should never have been planted in a Northeastern U.S. yard. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does the job, but you have to provide some effort
*by J***F on October 24, 2022*

The tool is exactly as expected, although it feels a bit heavier than I'd hoped. Guess I'm getting old. That said, it works well and the weight is part of the reason that it cuts so well. It's a great workout! Had an old oak tree that kept sprouting more branches even after the tree was removed and the roots ground down. Turns out the roots below ground were huge; one was about 10" in diameter. The smaller roots went quickly with this bar, but the large ones took me a few hours of work, over a couple of days. Still better than using an axe, in my estimation. And there was so much dirt/clay, that a saw was not a good option for me.
