Review: All guitar playes need this - This EQ first of all has great sound quality. No issue with noise. Put this in your effects loop. Take any high gain amp channel and shape it into the sound you hear on recordings. It's all in the EQ. All of the classic rock tones, metal tones, fusion tones......it's not your amp; it's your EQ.
Review: This unit meets the need - 31-band EQ's have several uses in the chain of audio production, several of them may only require a single channel. While it would surely be "economically prudent" to buy two-channel EQ's from the start, when the need requires a single channel only (as with a single microphone installation, perhaps,) the dbx 131s is a reasonable choice. I have not found any reason to question it but I would suggest you take all the time necessary to understand where an EQ works and what it cannot do. It can, along with other tools in the chain, clean up and clear up certain issues, but know that it does not replace processors designed to limit, shape or expand the signal. I use mine to help isolate a particular sound quality, and I rely on additional tools to complete this process. For what it does, it works transparently and well.

Simply perfect for trimming down those annoying frequencies and shaping your sound the right way. This is a very nice EQ and probably would work well for Keyboardists as well.
