Each collar is about 0.5 lbs. and the bar itself without the collars is about 2.5 lbs. I hope this helps. **Q: How long are the hand hold portion of the bars? I have large hands, so I'm going to order fatgrips for an easier grip.** A: I use fat grips on these as well; the inside length for the hand hold portion is a touch over five inches, which accommodates the fat grips nicely. **Q: how long is the threaded portion?** A: Each end has 4 inches of threads but the collar is 1/2 inch so you can get 3 and 1/2 inches of weights on each end. **Q: I bought 1" quick release weight locks to use on these and they are too big yet the ones that come with don't stay tight.
