It's light and has a nice citrus/clean scent. I wouldn't say it goes on with a matte finish, but it doesn't add any oil.I originally tried it both at night and during the day, but switched to just applying it at night and I use a different moisturizer from Aesop during the day for some SPF protection. One pump will cover your whole face and one bottle (2.5oz) lasts me 4-6 months.
